Blue Shaddy to Rock Kununurra Ag Show
Blue Shaddy is a well known Australian Blues and Roots band and they just can’t wait to get to Kununurra on the 8th of July for the town’s agricultural show. They will play in the evening on Saturday the 9th of July, supported by local band Psycho Mojos. Kimberley Exposure recently interviewed Blue Shaddy’s dynamic couple – Singer and Guitarist Jim McClelland and Bass Guitarist Sandy McClelland. The other band members are Graham McClelland on harmonica and Dean Wuksta on drums. The band have been together for over 15 years and have received a variety of awards including the Music Oz Blues & Roots Award in 2007.
Blue Shaddy played last year at the Kununurra Agricultural Show to a large crowd and jumped at the chance to come back and play again this year.
We have been playing on and off in Kununurra for a while now and it will always remain one of our favourite gigs ever. We just love that the Kununurra Ag Show brings a community together within a fun and family environment. Everyone we met last year were just such down to earth, fun loving folks. Great vibe. And so much for the kids…happy kids ..happy family.
It’s a very strong community environment, where people are working together to create a fun, family orientated, and safe outing for everyone. The committee behind the show are very dedicated. It’s not everyday that a group of people work voluntarily and with so much effort to create something everyone can enjoy. These things don’t just happen it takes love and commitment.
It actually feels like home for some reason. It feels like the epitome of Australia, the essence maybe. We are from a remote area of the wheatbelt so we relate to the Kimberley region but the openness and space, warmth, and colour you have here is magic and so very welcoming. We have made some fantastic friends in Kununurra and it really does hold a special place for us.
